Terms of Service

These terms explain the planning service, customer responsibilities, payments, delivery, and the limits of travel recommendations.

Agreement and eligibility

By using Collective Atlas or Trip Captain, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to make purchases and travel decisions.

Free planning tools

The free Dad Vacation Challenge provides an automated planning direction based on information you enter. Destinations, cost estimates, scores, and sample itineraries are general planning outputs—not live quotes, reservations, guarantees, or professional financial or legal advice.

Paid Hero Plans

A Hero Plan is a personalized travel-research service based on the completed brief. Hero Plan Pro includes broader comparisons and additional planning detail. The exact recommendations depend on the information supplied, current availability, timing, budget, and the purchased plan level.

Unless a different delivery estimate is communicated, a complete paid brief is targeted for delivery within two business days. Missing or conflicting information may pause that timing while we request clarification.

Customer responsibilities

You are responsible for providing accurate traveler details, dates, ages, budgets, passport or identification needs, accessibility requirements, and restrictions. You must review all recommendations and confirm names, dates, cancellation terms, travel documents, supplier rules, and final pricing before booking.

Payments and accounts

Paid plans must be purchased through the provided Stripe checkout. The planning request is released only after Stripe confirms payment. A private Trip Captain account is associated with the checkout email. You are responsible for using an email you control and protecting access to the identity account used to retrieve plans.

Prices, availability, and third parties

Travel prices and availability can change at any time. Hotels, airlines, cruise lines, attractions, insurers, and other suppliers operate independently and control their own inventory, policies, changes, cancellations, and service delivery. Collective Atlas cannot guarantee that an option remains available after research is completed.

Booking assistance

Nothing is booked without your express approval. If you request booking assistance, additional supplier terms and payment requirements may apply. You remain responsible for reviewing and accepting those terms before purchase.

Revisions

Hero Plans include one reasonable clarification or revision requested within seven days of delivery. A substantial change to destination, dates, traveler count, budget, or trip type may require a new plan.

Acceptable use

You may use the site and purchased plan for personal travel planning. You may not attempt to access another customer’s account, disrupt the service, bypass payment, scrape the site at unreasonable volume, or republish or resell a plan as your own commercial product.

Limitation of responsibility

Travel involves risks and circumstances outside our control, including weather, delays, illness, supplier changes, entry requirements, and personal decisions. To the extent permitted by law, Collective Atlas is not responsible for indirect losses or for a supplier’s acts, omissions, cancellations, or service quality. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot legally be waived.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Updated terms apply from the posted revision date. These terms are governed by the laws of Kentucky, without limiting any consumer protections that apply where you live.
